Who is GreekForYou.com?

GreekForYou.com is a Greek language services provider. We offer a selection of expert Greek training solutions to individuals and organisations globally, mainly by Skype.  Our administrative centre is based in the UK, enabling us to provide premium quality services to our European and International students at highly competitive rates.  It does not matter where you live, with GreekForYou.com you can learn from anywhere, anytime. Choose from a wide variety of plans and start making real progress.

How does it work?

We work with you one-to-one using Skype. It’s like a telephone call. Skype lessons really improve your listening and speaking skills with 100% of tutor time and interaction with a native speaker of Greek.
To improve your Greek or your exam grade we will first do a “needs analysis” to measure your level and find out what you want to achieve with your Greek studies.
Lessons are planned to fit your learning needs and wants. The lessons can include any part of Greek you need, help with writing, vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation etc and most importantly – speaking.
Feedback and correction are a vital part of learning and we will give you written and spoken feedback throughout the lesson.

What is the curriculum?

We teach you what you want to learn. We design tailor-made lesson plans for you, which we usually discuss with you in the first lesson. We make use of a wide range of resources such as course-books, online materials for free, and our own independent curriculum.

Where are your students from?

Anywhere and everywhere! All over the world there are people who want to learn or improve their Greek. The Internet reduces the distance in time, space and between cultures.

How many lessons do I need?

It will depend on your Greek language level. If you are not sure, you can start with 10 lessons and you can decide if you need more. Alternatively, we can help you to determine how many more lessons you may need but the decision is yours. Why not apply for a free initial consultation; we would love to help you.

Do you offer group classes?

We offer larger group classes to companies, schools, Internet based organisations and other teaching services. In such cases our cost is agreed in advance. Please advise our prices and rates.

How do I pay for lessons?

Go to ‘Prices’ page. Our preferred method of payment is through payment transfers. However, you can pay by credit or debit card through PayPal.
PayPal is the most preferred way to pay online in the world because it’s safer and faster. It is the highest ranked and most secure method of payment for international and online transactions. You deal directly with PayPal, not with us. PayPal gives you a numbered and dated receipt. It then informs us how many lessons you have purchased.
We never get to see your card numbers. You do not have to have a personal PayPal account to use its services. However, if you do have your own personal or business PayPal account you can also make direct payments from the balance in your account.

What times are the lessons and how long are they?

Our lessons are 55 minutes in length. They are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We will try to provide your tutor whenever you can find time to attend.

Is learning online different from learning at a traditional language school?

Actually, learning online can be better in several ways. Our classes are designed for you specifically. Most students practise speaking more in an individual online lesson than they would in a group class. You can learn at your own speed and at a convenient time for you. You can take lessons wherever you are — in your home, in the home of a friend or relative, in your office . You do not have to travel to a school or wait around in the hall for classes to begin. You do not even have to dress up to go out. It can be very much less expensive than a traditional language school especially when you calculate that you learn more in one intensive lesson with a personal tutor than in five or more group lessons.

How often and how long should I take a course?

We recommend taking at least 1 lesson a week minimum. For optimal progress, we recommend taking 2-3 lessons a week. However, it is completely up to the students how often and how long they take the lessons.

What is the free trial lesson like?

The free trial lesson is very casual. You don’t need to prepare for anything or be afraid of answering difficult questions. The purpose is for the teacher and student to get to know a little more about each other. We can assess your Greek abilities, learning goals and interests. It is a very relaxed online session. We will discuss:

-your learning needs and goals

-suitable courses, content and learning material

-any questions you may have

How to join these free session?

At least, 2 days before the consultation, you need to send us your Skype user ID. Once we receive your Skype user ID, we will add your Skype ID to our Skype contact list. On the day of the consultation, your tutor will call you through Skype and if you are online, you will be added to the Skype conversation. Easy, isn’t it!

Where can I send my SKYPE user ID?

What is Skype? How do I get Skype?

Skype is software that enables the world’s conversations. Millions of individuals and businesses use Skype on their PCs to make free video and voice calls, send instant messages and share files with other Skype users. It’s free to download and easy to use. Get Skype from the official Skype website.

Do I need any special equipment for the Skype lessons?

You need access to a computer and it must have Skype software installed. The computer will probably already have built-in speakers, a microphone and web-camera. If so, you do not need additional equipment. But if it does not, you should buy a headset with a microphone.

I’m not very good with computers but I want to have Skype lessons. What shall I do?

No problem at all. Our system is very easy to use and understand. As long as you have a basic understanding of Skype and email, you can have Skype lessons. Also, in your free initial consultation, we will check you understand everything. If your are not sure about anything just ask and we will help you.

What is your lesson cancellation policy?

Your lesson time is reserved for you. If you need to cancel a lesson, please read carefully our cancellation policy here.

What happens if the internet connection fails?

First of all you need a high speed internet connection. However, in case the connection fails we will arrange another day to complete the missing lesson. For instance if we have a 55 min lesson and the connections fails 10 minutes before the end of the lesson, we will arrange another 10 minutes lesson later on.

How do I prepare before the lessons?

Make sure that your microphone and video are connected. Please login in to your Skype account 10 minutes before your lessons and stay online until your teacher will contact you.
